We are honored to be working on a renovation project of this magnificent mid-century home in Durham! Built in 1950, this home was designed by prolific NC architect James Webb. The property features a guest cottage designed by NCSU architecture students under George Matsumoto. Our renovation work will celebrate and honor the original character of the house while providing modern amenities in the kitchen and bath.
Thank you NCSU Libraries Special Collections Research Center for a great visit to see original drawings of this James Webb designed house! Webb (1908 – 2000) was a prolific architect whose portfolio is full of homes in Durham and Chapel Hill. We discovered dozens of beautiful, hand-drafted plans from 1951. The NCSU Special Collections is a wonderful resource, holding the papers of many such local architects. Not only was the visit productive, but also a lot of fun!
