The clients had strong ideas for a central public core with “wings” of more private spaces. The central “core” rises two stories, with a double height living space that creates a vertical connection between the lower and upper levels. Beautiful exposed columns & glulam beams define the spaces on the lower level and give a sense of structural coordination. A dramatic wooden bridge crosses the space gracefully, creating a connection between the home office and guest bedroom on the upper level. The lower level “wings” accommodate a residential gym with high ceilings to support aerial dancing, a garage and a large master suite beside a smaller child’s bedroom. Outdoor covered porches off the bedrooms provide stunning views to the pond, and large decks and terraces along the south side provide direct access to the pool. The narrow, open floor plan fosters beautiful natural lighting and views in every direction.
