Katie Wakeford brings experience in research and passion for affordable and sustainable design to the team. This includes a devotion to service that helps shape stronger communities throughout the region. Katie received her master of architecture from NC State University and her bachelor of arts from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the NC State adjunct faculty where she teaches Public Interest Design. Before joining Grant Group Architecture, Katie spent six years as an intern architect with the NC State School of Architecture’s Home Environments Design Initiative. She has served as a project reviewer for the SEED Network, an organization committed to guiding, measuring, evaluating and certifying the social, economic and environmental impact of design projects. She also has served on the advisory boards of Our Children’s Place and the UNC Greensboro Department of Interior Architecture. When not at Grant Group Architecture, she can be found teaching ballet at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill.
