This classic 1960’s Chapel Hill home was ready for a fresh start. The owners, alums of the university who had moved away for many years, looked forward to spending their retirement in the charming Kings Mill / Morgan Creek neighborhood, just a stone’s throw from campus. Opening up walls between the living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room created a more spacious and contemporary feeling. Light fills the rooms from both sides and from the skylights above. The kitchen is ready for intimate family meals and gracious entertaining. The cool palette blends well with the original wood floors. The family room flows onto a redesigned secluded back deck. A new carport is located for convenient access and, along with an expanded front patio, provide generous outdoor areas for gatherings with great views to the East. The updated primary suite creates a private relaxing oasis. The house and its site are rejuvenated and ready for many more happy years.
